Oh how I'm lovin these first days of Home school. Why would anyone not want to share in this special bond between Parent/Teacher & Student/Child? The other day we decided to make tamales...we can do this right? It was the science home ec project of allll projects and guess what? They. Were. Awesome! (the tamales were too!) After our ambitious attempt to conquer science and home ec iblended into family dinner we did not stop there. Churros were our next victim! Well, these little fritters were definitely a treat but not right away. My brilliance told me not to use the biscuit mix but I did otherwise. To my dismay they literally disentigrated upon hitting the oil. I claimed FAIL on the Churros. One of my twins was watching, helping and deligently measuring. I said, "I'm sorry Kayla these are horrible" Her reply? "Well, no these are our hypothesis...we'll try the "regular" flour next ...and just like that we had a teachable moment.
